Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026. 1405 Ltd (“1405”, “we”), Manchester, UK.
This short policy explains how we handle personal data when you use 1405.one (or this static site), start a free trial, or become a client. It is written for a very small company — not legal advice. Have a solicitor review before heavy production use.
1. Who we are
1405 Ltd is a micro AI studio based at The Hive, 47 Lever Street, Manchester M1 1FN, United Kingdom. Contact: enquiries@1405.one.
2. Data we collect
- Contact & trial forms: name, email, business name, website URL, message content.
- Trial / hosted bots: content you provide for training (FAQs, page text), conversation logs, and lead details visitors submit in chat.
- Technical: basic server logs if your host records them (IP, browser). This static site does not use advertising cookies by default.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and run free trials.
- To provide Hosted bot or project services you request.
- To improve reliability (e.g. review failed answers during a trial).
- To send service emails (setup, trial ending). We do not sell your data or run marketing spam lists.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
Contract / steps prior to contract (trial and paid work), legitimate interests (security, basic analytics if enabled), and consent where you tick a form box.
5. Sharing
We use subprocessors to run email and AI features (for example email providers and model APIs such as OpenAI). We only share what is needed to deliver the service. We do not sell personal data.
6. Retention
- Trial: conversation logs deleted within 30 days after trial end unless you convert to a paid plan.
- Enquiries: kept up to 24 months if no contract follows.
- Clients: kept for the contract term plus records needed for tax/accounting.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data, and complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Email us to exercise rights.
8. International transfers
Some tools process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) offered by those providers.
9. Changes
We may update this page. The “last updated” date will change when we do.
